Breastfeeding-Friendly NCS
This introductory lactation and Breastfeeding course is designed for NCS, doulas, and Sleep Consultants and created by an IBCLC, Newborn Care Specialist, Evonne Smith.
Are you a NCS, doula, or sleep consultant looking to learn more about lactation?
As professionals working with families of infants, we need to have a basic understanding of lactation including anatomy, milk transitions, latching, growth spurts, pumping, common lactation issues and when to refer. Evonne Smith takes you through what you need to know about lactation to better assist your clients.
Evonne is not only an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), but an NCS familiar with working in homes and understands the profession. Through her training and personal experience, she has designed a course to help professionals acquire the lactation knowledge to support their client families.
By the end of this course you will:
- Understand best practices for ensuring a healthy milk supply
- Know how to make sure baby’s getting enough to eat
- See how bottles, pacifiers, and the breastfed baby coexist
- Know how to find the balance between breastfeeding & sleep shaping priorities

- Clearly understand what’s “in scope” for us professionals and when to refer out
